For me, as a mother to my 2 kids, the most important thing is to get the kids to eat good nutritious food. This is really hard to do when the kids are picky eaters. My daughter is not too bad. She grew out of her picky-eater status around 4. Now that she's almost 8, she will eat anything that tastes good, but not the same meals in a week! She likes variety. My son is a pickier eater. It's not that he doesn't eat. He will eat when he comes across something to his taste--most of the time it's not my cooking. So now that he is starting kindergarten in a couple of days, what to pack in his snack bag and/or lunch bag has become my biggest challenge. So I have been doing some research to see what other moms are doing for their children's lunches. Take a look at this Japanese award-winning bento! For more bento or lunch box ideas, go to this Japanese website: http://e-obento.com. Once you hit "enter", click on one of the months at the top of the page. You will be pleasantly surprised. Pictures really speak a thousand words. It's a good thing too since I don't know a word of Japanese. I wonder how long it will take to create one of these bentos. Where do Japanese moms find the time to do all this?!
